Aligning Stars.

You know you have some good days, bad days...and those SUPER AWESOME DAYS?! That was my day today.
It started when I called the Studio today and told them the Photographer position will not work out. I was bummed the night before, but after talking about it with Adam and praying about it, I really felt it would not be the best thing for me right now. It of course does not stop me from getting any photography experience, I can still make that happen.
A few hours later I came in contact with the Head of Human resources at work. After talking with her momentarily, she asked me where I see myself going in the company and I explained to her my desire to move up. She told me there is a new position opening up in Human resources and she advised me to apply when they release it. Heck Yes!
After work I went to my company's softball game. No, I don't play softball. The last time I played was in the Provo MTC and I was hit in the face...end of story. But I was persuaded to go so why not?!? I came a little late, but just in time, I was batting already! The pitcher saw me run in and grab a bat. I took a few practice swings and thought..it doesn't matter at this point assuming I will strike out. The first throw at me, I hit the ball! I stood for a bit watching the ball fly, I was so impressed...OOPS! I had to start running. I made it to first base. The next person up at bat hit it out and I ran from 1st to home plate scoring for the team! I was so happy.
After the game the Other Head of HR came up to me asked asked me to to first seriously start doing all the company's photos for our hiring batches and to then start shooting for our monthly newsletter...WAHHH! I was so excited. I can still work at an awesome company, with awesome benefits and still do what I love. I just love life today! And  best yet, Adam comes home after tomorrow. I am so grateful for days like this. Today I learned that the Lord does know what is best for us, sometimes we have to close some doors, but others will open to us and will be better than we expect. It takes faith. I also learned that I can hit a ball pretty darn good!

Can't wait to see this handsome fellow soon!

Just an update!

I've been meaning to get around to this. This last month has been full of events! I turned 25 on May 28! In celebration of both out Birthdays Adam and I headed down to St.George that weekend with our friends Sarah & Colton.

We had a grand o'time hiking, playing, swimming, and not to mention...we did a semi- LOTR marathon, we watched the second and third movie in the same night! It was our last night there and we were exhausted from all the festivities. Yeah, we're dorks! But, Adam had never seen LOTR and I was on a quest to change that.

We kept ourselves busy at the beginning of this month. We've been DJing weddings, a business Adam had before he left for his mission. It's fun to be his partner-in-crime.

We also spent time with my family. My brother Ryan is moving back East for training. He will be learning how to operate on the Osprey, one of the coolest helicopters out there. Cassie moved also moved back out east temporarily to stay with our oldest sister. I'll miss them!

Adam is currently away for two weeks for is Annual training at Camp Pendleton. I miss him so much! I thought i'd lose it when he leaves, but I've been doing great, aside from thinking of him ALL the time. I've been keeping my self busy with other things. I'm pursuing a Photographer position at a thriving studio in the area. Last Thursday I had a group interview, comprising 7 others in my group. We went around introducing ourselves and our photography experience. Half of them brought their portfolios and had a lot of credentials under their belt. When it was my turn I said " My husband bought me a camera, and started taking pictures in the last couple of months...." Haha I didn't have much to show for. The hiring manager said "I went to school for four years for photography, and I didn't need any of it." I left the interview feeling rather low, I doubt they will call me back for the follow-up interview. Behold! they called me back just 20 mins later. I'm not sure why, maybe because I told them that I secretly love books/movies with dragons in it, and they LOVED that. You know the book Eragon? I only bought it because there was a dragon on the front...

Here's my Honey Bum! I was to teach Sunday school today and I requested he send me something for the class. I was able to speak with him over the phone the last couple of days before he goes back into the field for their war simulation. I told him one thing I appreciate was...hanging my towel up every morning. He hasn't been around to do that so I have used every towel in the shelf because I never hang mine back up! He said....He actually misses rubbing my feet! So this time apart has really been a complete success! Just one more week to go!
