The Zoo

Yesterday, We took a day trip to the zoo. Which was perhaps the first time I have been to the zoo in who-knows-how long. We noticed there are two types of people who go the the zoo. There are the 12-and-under crowd, and the people hovering over the 12-and-under crowd. Needless to say, neither of us fit this profile, but we enjoyed it nonetheless.

It was fascinating to see the wide array of creatures that our Heavenly Father has created - all of which are strictly for the enjoyment of His children whom he loves so much. Truly, Alma knew what he meant when he said "all things denote there is a God".

Adam, Mighty Joe young and myself :)

 The Gang

Scandalous!

The Birthday Boy!!

AWW! He is crying because he can't reach his food!

This sea lion has it made. I wanted to jump in and going swimming with him.

Lastly, these cute babes. Adam and I can't wait to join the club.

I love the bubble on Charley's lip, so cute!!!

And... I just made 99 cookies. Pretty crazy that it came out to a perfect 99. I wish I hadn't eaten so many in the process so I could brag about getting in to the triple digits! Bummer!

Angeles Mission Reunion

On Friday, April 5, 2013 I attended for the second time the Angeles Mission Reunion. It was so wonderful to see everyone again, there were so many people I regrettably didn't catch up with everyone like I wanted to. But nonetheless It was great to say Hi. I even saw people that I didn't think I would see which was SO COOL! I wasn't there too long. Adam also had his mission reunion the same night at the same time so we had to "big kick left out of there" (in the words of Adam) and book it to his reunion. Mission reunions are so fun!

AND! I can't believe I stumbled upon this, but some missionaries from Angeles put this together and this is our mission song. I love it!

I'm so blessed from the opportunity I had to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and share his light with others. Those 18 months were the best 18 months FOR my life. The people I met, the experiences I had and the things I learned are priceless and very dear to me. VIVA LA PHILIPPINES!!!

12 Day walk with Christ: continued again

Here are the remaining days for the 12 day walk with Christ. Though, it took a little longer than 12 days, but that's ok! So far, its been eye opening. We have learned a lot and are grateful for this experience...While in the middle of reading one of the scripture blocks, I received word that a dear member of the Ruben family had passed away. I was hurt, but I had just finished reading about the atonement and resurrection of Christ and pondered it.  Although we are not all promised long healthy lives, wealth, etc; We are promised immortality, eternal life, guidance through the Spirit, peace and comfort in times of trial, guidance if we seek it and more. I am grateful for The Savior and his atonement which makes everything possible in this life and the next.

Love,
Charlene & Adam
