Sweet and Sour

After the holiday festivities, we've finally setteled into our basement apartment. We've been kept busy with life especially recently. Adam's cousin Jeremy started his trial this week after waiting five years for this! He's representing himself becuase really, the lawyers weren't ready for trial and not very trustworthy. It's Day 4 and as far as I have heard, things are going well. The DOJ's prime witness along with others have flat out lied. I pray the Jury will continue to see the truth from the lies. I'm so ashamed so much corruption exists in our government. More importantly, everyone is waiting from Jeremy to get his name back that they have dragged through the mud all these years. I'm just amazed at how positive he and his wife have stayed despite their circumstance.

Things have been a little up in the air with us since last friday. Adam walked into work like any other day, sat down and a few minutes later he was approached by a fellow worker who informed Adam it was his last day. Geez, thanks for the notice! They didn't have the money to keep paying him and so they let him go. After the initial shock, we've been praying about what to do next. Adam was approached by another company that he'd applied a month prior. He interviewed for that but he's not too sure if becoming a W-2 employee again is best. His entrepenuer spirit is so strong and he has his heart set on real estate investing. A few days later, he was in contact with the owner of Busy Bee Realty who is a  player in the game and offered to mentor Adam! I was so happy to hear the news. We'll find out more tomorrow if this is what we'll go into next. We're very hopeful of what will follow as far as his career is concerned.

Lately, I've been doing a lot of Family History. It's been so fullfilling, though, there is a balance in all things. I would do it almost all day that I neglected laundry, scripture study and other things. Yikes! With the help of my mother in law, I've been able to find many names and find stories of my ancestors. It's helped me feel the spirit more and has also motivated Adam and I to do more temple work for my ancestors.

Adam and I have also been working on documenting missionary stories by interviewing family. Adam has a new calling of doing this with the family history center. It'll be a fun calling to explore since there isn't currently a positionfor that. I've been called as a ward missionary and I think introducing family history will be a great way to help others.

Emery is becoming more vibrant everyday. She is very active and I try my best to keep her little brain entertained. We'll go to the library and sometimes the gymnastics gym for play time. She's still a big fan of dancing! In the photos above, she got her first black eye! She ran into adam with a pair of binoculars snuggled against her face on impact.

Emery seems to be left handed, but on occassion she'll use her right hand so we're still not sure yet which hand will dominate.

Sometimes Emery is sweet and sometimes she is sour. Yesterday we had our first incident with a sharpie. she wrote ALL over the couch. Luckily we learned baking soda and water will get it right out with a little elbow grease :)

Baby Taylor is doing well. Yup, we think we'll call her Taylor and for short, Tae Tae. I have to use an "e" in the nick name becuase using a "y" will just spell out grandpa in tagalog so it's kinda weird to me. I'll be 21 weeks this Saturday. Half way point! The ultrasound this week wasn't complete and my fluids are low so I have to go back next week for a follow up. She's measuring 2 weeks small so hopefully she grows a little more.
