A Twelve Day Walk With Christ:continued

I apologize it's been almost a week that we haven't posted. A lot of things have come about and I didn't make a very strong effort to get to the computer. Time is short, but here are a few more days. I promise we'll be more diligent about posting!

Love,
Charlene & Adam

Day 5
Question: How can I improve my thoughts?
Read: Alma 37:35-37; D&C 6:16; D&C 88:124; D&C 121:45-46

Read: D&C 42:27; 88:121; 136: 23; 3 Nephi 12: 33-37
Ponder: I will speak only kind, uplifting words to everyone I talk to today. I will not criticize, gossip, nor speak ill of others

A Twelve Day Walk With Christ: Day 3

Day 2 Thoughts:
Am I seeking Christs help? My initial reaction to this question was, "of course I'm seeking Christs help! I pray to him daily requesting his help with a number of different things." But Duet. 4:29-31 shed a new light on this for me. "... If from then thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all they heart and with all thy soul." When my world seems to be falling down around me, nothing seems more naturally in the world than to seek Christ's help. But can I honestly say that I am constantly seeking him with all my heart and with all my soul all of the time? I'm afraid I can't answer that question with any degree of confidence. In paraphrasing C. S. Lewis, some people regard Christ as an airman regards his parachute, he's there when he needs it, but he hopes he never has to use it. We need not wait for a moment of crisis to run back in to Christ's outstretched arms - he would prefer we never leave. He has promised us success if we seek, and he will reward us in direct proportion to how much of heart and soul we have put in to the search.
Love,
Adam & Charlene

Day 3:
Question: Do I really understand repentance?
Read: Mosiah 2:38 and 4:9-12; Alma 36:6-25; D&C 58:41-43
Ponder: Have I truly sought forgiveness from the Lord? Do I really believe He will forgive me?

A Twelve Day walk with Christ: Day 2

Day 1 Thoughts
How was day one? It was a good foot down the path the Savior walked. One thing that stood out to me was the Savior's desire to learn and increase in his understanding of God's plan and his purpose. Everything the Lord taught, was learned through experience and divine guidance. Like him, we too must grow in our knowledge and strive to increase our learning.

In Abraham 1:2 it says "and desiring to receive instruction..." How blessed are we that we can be guided in the path of happiness, we can receive our own personal revelation so that we are never lost. There are times we may feel that way, but when we live the Gospel and seek guidance, and keep a positive, faithful attitude, we will never be led astray.
I also have come to learn that is is important to continue to learn, because if we stop, we forget what we once knew. There is never a point a human reaches where they have learned all they can. Its an eternal principal. There are many ways we can learn For example  I've started reading an assortment of books like Elder Bednar's Increase in Learning and C.S. Lewis The Screwtape letters. These great books help me understand principles more fully, I highly recommend them!  And I study the art of photography just to name a few. .
That's about it for tonight, Adam was really tired and I can't get to the comp till after he's done with homework so, it's really late! Goodnight :)

With all our Love
Charlene & Adam

DAY 2
Question: Am I seeking Christ's help?
Read: Duet. 4:29-31; Prov. 3:5-6; D&C 11:7; Ether 12:27; D&C 88:63, 83, 118, 119
Ponder: Am I seeking the Lord's help in all I think and do? How can he help me overcome my weaknesses?

A Twelve Day Walk With Christ: Day 1

A Twelve Day Walk With Christ
The only way we can really know another person is to "walk in his shoes".... to think what he thinks, understand how he feels, and then do what he would do. Christ said " Be ye therefor perfect." We can strive toward perfection as we become more like Him. Faithfully follow this twelve day walk with Christ and you will better understand him.

Day 1:
Question: How can I follow in His footsteps?
Read: 1Peter 2:21; Abraham 1:2; Moroni 7:48; John 8:12; 1Cor. 14:1
Ponder: How can I follow in Christ's steps today? In all my decisions today I will ask "What would Christ do?"

Tonight Adam And I had a great Family Home Evening Lesson. Yesterday in church we heard great talks about discipleship. I wanted to carry that on into our lesson. Last summer my Releif Society President (Ms Aubrie :) ) presented a great activity for the sisters. It's called "A twelve day walk with Christ". I thought this would help us apply the things we learned in church, because,  you know how you pray and hope you can apply the things you learn?...I'm one who forgets on most occasions, So I am really excited to do this.
Adam and I want to invite everyone to take a walk with Christ for 12 days. It's short and sweet, but can be very powerful. We'll post each night the next days scriptures and questions to ponder, along with our insight from the day before. And, don't hesitate to write it all down in your journals!

We love you all!

Love

Adam & Charlene

Oh my! Adam and I haven't updated our blog in the longest time. I apologize for our lack of effort. I actually have written a few blogs but in the end, I didn't publish them.

I just want to take the last ten minutes I have (at work tonight) to share a recap on the last couple of months. It's almost been a blur! It's gone by so fast.

Adam was officially hired on at HealthEquity. And for my friends who are looking for a great paying job, they are currently hiring :). He is still working hard on his school work, only a month and a half left!!! We can't wait for summer. Speaking of the weather, it has been grgeous all week! I my life has brightened in more ways than one.

Im doing well myself. I started seeing a specialist about my hashimotos, so im getting that under control. Adam and I are also taking the week off from Insanity! We finished the program and he says I look great. But we're going at it again next week. It's Adam's spring break week so we spent most of our time in Murray with his family.

We had plans to leave for Washington state at the end of the month to visit my grandparents on my mother's side. They were planning to go back to the Philippines to live off the rest of their life, BUT now they plan to return and move to UTAH! They don't speak a word of english so I am so grateful I have a spouse who can communicate with them alongside me. How awesome right?!?

Well, Adam just finished his work for the night so we are heading out. I promisee we will be more diligent about our blogging in the coming months.

Oh, PS, There is a St. Patrick's Day parade at the Gateway in SLC at 10am, bring your families!
