Home Stretch

I thought I'd blog again since I haven't been productive at all this week. I've been sick with the fever, soar throat and a treacherous cough. I've got the froggy voice going on.

The last few weeks have been very eventful though! My wonderful in-laws threw me a baby shower and Lisa took great pictures capturing it all.
We missed you Andrea!!!

After the shower we had a "Sprinkle" for Sarah, who is due right around the same time as myself. It was fun hanging out with all the girls.

It was great to have friends and my parents there. I got to meet baby V and see little Charlotte again. Tis the season to have babies :)

Lisa took some great pics of me afterward. She is so talented!

I made a runner for the dresser, SUPER easy. I also was inspired by pinterest to make the collage from scratch. Three weeks ago I told my husband how non-craftsy I am....I surprise myself :)

Mo (my MIL) made the crib skirt! I watched her so I could learn. Isn't it super cute?! I then made matching crib sheets! We also had a quilt made, I can't wait to get that soon! It's being stitched up in St. George right now.

On Sunday we celebrated Cadence's first birthday up in Midway. Such a sweet baby!

And just a few pics of Adam and I, he was at drill when I had my pics taken at the shower.

Well, I am due two weeks from yesterday! I'm starting to slow down...maybe because I have been sick. The anticipation is killing me! Can she just come now? No, Doctor said I won't be going into labor anytime soon. That's okay though! I still haven't packed my hospital bag, so there are a few things I need to take care of.

On another note, as you may have heard, Adam was voted as a state delegate. Basically he'll be a voice for the people in our community to vote for people running in offices. The process was kinda intense, not that it usually is. We had about 120 people show up in our precinct for the caucus meeting. Thirteen people were running for state delegate but only 4 can be chosen. We at first we joked about nominating him so he can be "wined and dined" by the candidates...but then I got serious and asked "Do you really want to be a delegate?!?" and Adam said he would love the experience. I thought he sounded perfect for the task. He is always informed of the current issues, has great knowledge of history and past events and is very passionate about politics. So...I motioned to my RS president to nominate him...and he took the number two spot for state delegate! He's definitely excited about the new adventure.

Well,  It'll probably be the last time I blog till little Em is born...unless she's late...hopefully not though. I am ready to be done.

It's All About Change

Lots and lots of things are changing!

Over the Valentines weekend, my older sister got engaged! I love weddings and am so happy for her. We'll get to celebrate her and her fiance's union next June...in the Virgin Islands! I've never imagined attending a destination wedding. Now I want to watch "Say Yes to the Dress" all the time, because she is going to Kleinfeld to find her dress!
Best of all, our family, the DeCato family will all be together for the first time in forever. Family reunion in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands? YES PLEASE.

Its about time for a new family portrait...right?

Our little Emery is due in 20 days! I've made a lot of headway this last week with getting the nursery ready and making all those preparations for a baby. My friend Amanda and Mother-in-law have been by my side designing the nursery and helping me learn to sew! I feel like a better wife already with getting sewing skills under my belt. I've upgraded from a bad button sewed on to bumper pads...who knows what's next?!?  But I'd be so lost without their help! THANK YOU GALS!

My first time using a sewing machine! Made my first bumper, of course my MIL held my hand along the way ;)

Fun project for the determined dreamer: Adam and I are into self-improvement material/dreaming big. This is America right?!? So we made time to finish our "Dream Board" a board of our dreams/wants. If you have Netflix, I recommend watching "The Secret". It's a good reminder to be positive, think happy thoughts, be grateful, etc... The board reminds us of what we want to achieve and what we need to do/sacrifice/delay/change to get there. It makes a fun FHE activity too!
We have dreams to travel the world, serve a couples mission, add equipment to our hobbies, Have fun toys to share with friends and family, etc...One day!

Dream Big!

A midst our financial hiccups at the moment (owe government money for income tax for 2013, car died, hoa dues increase) we still hold our heads high and see all our blessings around us. We feel super blessed in other aspects of life.
Adam started his new position at work and he loves it! It suits him very well. He loves the team atmosphere and gets a long great with his new boss. The guys even have a work motorcycle gang...including their wives. I wouldn't be surprised if we got a cheap motorcycle in the future. I've hinted toward Adam in the past how cool it would be!
Aside from good news with work, we went out with the missionaries a few Sundays ago. It was the first time in a while that we were able to join them. What an amazing experience. The spirit is so sweet, being able to share Christ's gospel to others. I've missed that. Members are always missionaries, but it is a different experience to be in the front row seat, seeing the Gospel in action as a full-time missionary as they say.

My sweetie also received a new calling in church as Elders Quorum 2nd counselor. As we sat in front of a member of the Stake Presidency, I kept thinking to myself, "oh boy! Time for some self evaluation!" He's going to need the support more than ever. I've known so many great leaders in life and they are more successful and happy when their wife is by their side. I hope to be that strength to him.

"To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often."

That's about it for now! Here's my 36 week pregnancy photo and how I'll look until i have the baby! My dear husband came home and saw me in a red shirt that didn't reach pass my belly, from then on I have been Winnie the Pooh.
