Homecoming

We're home! What a crazy busy time it's been lately.

The girls and I spent our last real day with my college buddy, Laura and her cute kiddos. We haven't seen each other in... I don't know, 10 years?! It's so weird the last time we saw each other, we were single in college having a good time staying awake all night. Now we've got kids and count down the hours until bedtime haha. We both happen to be in the Bay area at the same time, what a coincidence!

Actual snapshot of my emotions that morning
Leaving Friday morning was a little rough. Emery refused to wake up so that was a challenge getting her dressed and out the door. As soon as Adam dropped us off, she ran back to the car crying for daddy. It made my heart hurt. I too wanted to run back to  Adam haha. He was going to drive the 14 hours by himself. All I could think was, who's going to keep him awake if I'm not there? Plus, the weather wasn't ideal with heavy rain all day.
I was walking through the airport carrying Taylor in one arm and a car seat in the other with Emery refusing to come with me. It was hard going through security and just getting her to do anything. I literally broke down crying, I'm just way too emotional with this baby in me! I'm so grateful for the airport staff who comforted me in my hard mommy moment.

Things started to look up as the morning went on. The girls and I headed to our gate to wait a little while longer there. Emery sang lots of songs to make the rain go away :)

Finally on the plane! It wasn't too bad for the most part. The girls loved when we took off. It was cloudy the whole way so we couldn't see anything out the window, bummer!

My sweet sister picked us up from the airport and what an angel she was the whole weekend! She helped a ton playing with the girls to give me a break and get things done.
Adam made it home later Friday night with no trouble YAY, it was great to see him after a whole 14 hours lol.

Oakley went on one last vacation with the family that has been taking care of her. We picked her up Sunday night and oh how Adam couldn't wait! He was like a little kid all day waiting for this moment. I really was worried she wouldn't want to come back to us! She was totally spoiled these last three months! She has been on so many hikes and vacations and their little boy lets Oakley sleep in his bed AND she even got her nails painted haha. I also heard she got an entire birthday cake to herself EEEEKKK.

All together again

Taylor and Emery loved being with Oakley again, especially Taylor, she can't keep off her or stop feeding her. It's SO cute hearing her say PUPPY all day long.

We're glad to be back and grateful for all the wonderful people we met while we were away. I loved all the hugs at church and it was so fun to see everyone's face again!
